Earlier this week I returned from the Gold Coast a tad disappointed, for two reasons. One, for leaving an unquestionably beautiful – if overdeveloped and congested – place on Earth during Autumn, with its off-the-meds weather featuring a staccato of sunshine, tropical storm and basking humidity every seven and a half seconds. Two, I misjudged the timing of an exhibit of original production artwork for the seminal anime series Evangelion.
The 2013 Evangelion Art Exhibition Tour hosts a collection of original production artwork, including storyboards, concept design, character development, production stills and more from the seminal anime series. The exhibit runs from April 17 – May 5 at the Arts Centre, Gold Coast, then it moves to the Japan Foundation Gallery, Chifley, Sydney from May 10 – 18, finally showing at the No Vacancy Gallery, Melbourne from May 27 – June 9.
