Curious Abnormality Identified

The curious twisting of aluminium foil, wire and hot glue is an armature for a sculpture, in this case of a Corinthian helmet from ancient Greece. I used a grey air-drying clay, which when hardened can have details etched into it.

Halfway through I started thinking about the crest, which in real life would have been made of horsehair. Eventually I decided clay would not come close to accurately portraying how light and shadow would play through the real crest, so I’m thinking of a change in materials for the next one.
