#013 – Ninox strenua

WP_003021

One of my housemates when I lived in Hornsby was a taxidermist, and one time brought home a specimen of powerful owl, Ninox strenua to mount for a travelling educational exhibit.

Even in death this beautiful bird retained the nobility and dignity inherent to its species. I was drawn to its talons, as though any moment they may once again bare themselves upon its prey.
